Chris Kistner graduated from Piedmont Community College’s Gunsmithing School in 2019 and immediately began applying Cerakote in a high-volume professional production environment. Over the years, he has handled and refinished thousands of firearms and components, gaining deep insight into the exceptional standards of high-end manufacturers — as well as the challenges that can arise in the process.

Recognized for his expertise and trusted by the Cerakote factory, Chris earned the prestigious responsibility of certifying new applicators, ensuring they met the brand’s rigorous quality standards. This role further sharpened his technical skills and reinforced his commitment to excellence.

Seeking greater creative freedom and the opportunity to work directly with clients, Chris transitioned from production work to operating at Maverick Gunworks. This shift allows him to personally witness the satisfaction and excitement his craftsmanship brings to firearm owners.

As both a professional gunsmith and avid hunter, Chris uses and tests the same products he provides. He is dedicated to delivering finishes that protect and enhance the firearms his clients value, whether for hunting, sport, or collection.
